12.194 and a Circle

For the exhibition"De traagheid van de tafel" (the slowness of the table), part of the artevent "Souper V", the participating artists had to make a work that fitted a one meter by one meter tabletop.

 

Lies Geerdens is familiar with slowness, her whole practice is basted on it. Because of the size and material (wood) as well as her background in printmaking, she choose to carve in the surface.
